Delivering modern AI-based tools that radically reduce file and document work for land engineering, land surveying, and construction professionals.
Nobody in the land development sector enjoys the tedious, frustrating computer tasks needed to design and implement a project. These are just chores that we all accept, knowing that they must be done.
GradeBuilder wants to end your misery, by providing simpler, faster, more accurate ways to swiftly put these annoying processes in your rear view mirror — and maybe save your sanity along the way.
We will launch our first product ("Mustang") in the spring of 2026, which will streamline the workflow required to produce machine control files for heavy equipment in the land development field. From there we will periodically add new tools to our offerings, each leveraging the power of modern machine learning technology to make tasks in the land development field easier, faster, and less costly.
Our first product — Mustang — is coming Spring 2026, and will change the ground underneath the process of building machine control files for heavy construction equipment.
How Mustang Works
Mustang employs a streamlined three-step process to generate your machine control files, leveraging advanced AI to transform your design CAD files and PDF plans into precise, ready-to-use 3D models.
Step 1: Upload and Configure
Begin by uploading your base design files, along with the relevant PDF grading design and detail plans, directly into Mustang. Next, you'll engage in a guided configuration session, where our intuitive interface walks you through essential project setup parameters to ensure optimal results tailored to your needs.
Step 2: Automated File Cleaning
Mustang then initiates its intelligent file cleaning process, automatically eliminating extraneous details, correcting errors, and refining your base design files. The majority of this is handled swiftly by our AI engine, with minimal intervention required. In cases where additional clarification is needed, Mustang will prompt you for the same type of "request for information" inputs you're already familiar with—keeping the workflow seamless and efficient.
Step 3: Model Building and Export
Once the files are cleaned and formatted, Mustang proceeds to construct a comprehensive machine control grading model, derived from your PDF grading plans and civil grading CAD files. Most of this phase is automated and rapid, but if any design ambiguities arise, Mustang will pause and seek your expert input to resolve them. The final output? High-quality files ready for export in your preferred proprietary machine control system format.
By automating the heavy lifting, Mustang slashes your time and effort by 50% to 70%—or more—compared to traditional manual methods, empowering you to focus on what matters most: delivering exceptional projects faster and with greater accuracy.
GradeBuilder, Inc. is a Tennessee corporation, started in 2025, and based in the Nashville area. We are an extended team of software, land surveying, computer science, engineering, and construction nerds rallied around the idea that there is entirely too much manual computing work in the land development and construction industry, and that modern AI-based tools can make a huge improvement with these tasks.
